How We Got Here
This business started the way most good things do, with a kid, a welder, and a dad who taught him how to use both. Josh was swinging a hammer and learning to weld by the time he was eight years old. That never really left him. Through the Marine Corps, through years in the fire department, the shop has always been where he goes to think, create, and solve problems. Building things isn't just work; it's how his brain is wired.
Amelia didn't originally plan on being part of a design-build studio; it took some convincing. But the truth is, she was always the missing piece. A trained artist and prop artisan with a natural eye for color, space, and design, Amelia has spent years turning old, forgotten things into something new and beautiful. She's an introvert with a serious talent, and Southern Star Studio is her way of finally putting that talent in front of the people who need it most. So here we are.

Amelia brings the creative vision, the color sense, and the ability to take something old and make it worth keeping. If you've ever struggled to put into words what you want a space to feel like, she'll figure it out with you.
Meet Josh
Owner, Fabricator + Builder
Twenty-plus years of working with wood and metal. Marine Corps veteran. Full-time firefighter. Problem solver by nature. Josh handles all custom fabrication, woodworking, metalwork, and builds. He's the kind of person who can't walk past a challenge without figuring out how to fix it, which makes him pretty good at this.
